Born during the Eisenhower administration. Long career as a software engineer and a shorter one as an educator. A moderate from the era when a moderate was truly in the center politically. I think that makes me a far left liberal these days.

Ah yes, the ‘merit-based’ immigration system—where risking your life for American troops gets you shut out, but the right skin tone gets you a welcome mat.
We know what’s going on here.

Oh look, Musk speedrunning corruption like it’s a Tesla software update—buggy, dangerous, and somehow still legal (for now).
It's ILLEGAL for special government employees to do government work that affects their own financial interests!

Musk's companies got $3.3 BILLION in US government contracts in 2024, and now he's deciding who gets federal funding.

House Judiciary Dems are calling on the DOJ to investigate NOW.

Whole Foods: Organic, free-range union-busting. Bezos backed Trump, and now he’s cashing in—because nothing says ‘worker empowerment’ like exploiting a broken system.
Whole Foods, which is owned by notorious union-buster Amazon, is arguing that Trump's dismantling of the NLRB means the company doesn't have to recognize a newly unionized store in Philadelphia.

Looks like Jeff Bezos's investment in Trump is paying off.

Social Security isn’t a charity, it’s a paycheck I loaned the government for 50 years.
Trump: “We have people that shouldn’t be on (social security), and those people we have to weed out.”

I’ve paid into social security since I was 17—it wasn’t a donation to the treasury. When the time comes: Bitch Better Have My Money!

Hands! Off! Social! Security!

Trump disbands the task force targeting Russian oligarchs? Guess when you’re bought and paid for, you have to deliver.

Elon really took ‘blazing a trail’ a bit too literally. At this rate, the Cybertruck isn’t a vehicle—it’s a high-speed Viking funeral.

The Democratic Party will go down in history as weaker than Neville Chamberlain’s government.

What the Russians did to UK with Brexit, Trump is doing to the USA now. Who Benefits? Republican leadership, Trump, and his cronies, and the oligarchy. Who paid for this? In a large part, Elon Musk for his own benefit, but I think there are more international players responsible.

God bless you, David, but that list represents one percent of what the Democrats in Congress should be doing
Here’s what we did today
February 7, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Nothing will be done. A very few principled Democrats in Congress will speak out. The rest will continue to cash their checks, make their insider investments, and do nothing. You know I’m right.

Also the schools in the reddest districts.
Abolishing the Department of Education will further decimate rural schools...

And, for what? The Dept of Ed does not write curriculum -- that is done at the local and state level. The funding from the department mostly supports economically disadvantaged school systems. The poorest schools...

I am guessing that somehow they think that believing global climate change is real is the fault of gov’t climatologists. Eliminate NOAA and no more climate change lies. If my guess is true, the people responsible for shutting down NOAA are the stupidest sack of hammers in the history of stupidity.
DOGE is reportedly threatening NOAA with massive staff and budget cuts.

NOAA houses the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center, which produce forecasts and warn people about storms.

This attack on public safety is ripped straight from the pages of Project 2025.

Members reportedly sought access to IT systems at agency that Project 2025 has called ‘harmful to US prosperity’

Job, career, money. Same as the current batch of traitors. Same throughout history (Hitler enablers and supporters are a good example). Only some hung in the end. Likely none will see their due punishment this time.
I remember watching Star Wars as a kid and asking myself, who would voluntarily join the dark side? I understood Darth Vader's motivation, but not the stormtrooper's.

The Democratic Party is not confused. They are (with very few exceptions) complicit.
MORE OF THIS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Now we’re cooking!

Thank you for doing something, @schatz.bsky.social.

Corporate media will sanction no stories even mildly critical of their masters.
If a Democrat fired 100 FAA employees and put a freeze on hiring air traffic controllers 8 days before an airport plane crash, there would be a right-wing and media frenzy for weeks.

Trump is an extremely dangerous man--stupid, vindictive, fixated on payback for his enemies. This country will be lucky to survive him.

Expect this location to close soon due to “market forces.” This is the Bezos anti-union playbook.
Whole Foods workers in Philadelphia just accomplished something huge: they overcame Amazon's union-busting tactics and voted to form the store's first union in over four decades.

Remember that we can always find hope in the labor movement.
