Now is the time to fight, not surrender. 🗣️

Schumer must step down from his post as minority leader and allow for new leadership to emerge—someone who is willing to consistently fight for the American people.
Progressive group MoveOn calls on Schumer to step aside
"Inexplicably, some Senate Democrats, under Leader Schumer's watch, decided to surrender."

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

this is pretty much only a 1990s thing, it is mostly gone by the late 2000s. the greed/business side is still there, not the liberalization fantasy.
This is also said about Europe's approach to China and I simply don't believe this is true. I was at conferences with senior US folk in the early 2010s and none thought China would become more democratic or liberal.

We thought we could compete.

It’s time for a new political party in America.

That’s why we need a hostile takeover of the Democratic Party. Register and get active in primaries.
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

To any moderate Dems, or normie liberals that are mad at these craven, surrendering Dems, join us leftist Dems. The only thing I’d ask is you hate the Republican Party and these bitch ass craven Dems with the bright hot fury of 1,000 suns.

On one level, the blame for the Democrats capitulation lies with the incredibly cowardly and stupid elites who won't fight authoritarianism.

On another level, we're seeing the failure of the two party system and the Senate to properly channel the demands of the voters into action in government.

I think tonight shows why “moderate to win elections” is a real risk

the big divide in the Dem caucus, as many have noted, has been less moderate vs progressive than fight versus don’t fight

but it’s not a coincidence that basically everyone in the “don’t fight” camp is a moderate

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Neoliberalism was never going to save us from fascism as actually stopping fascism would impact the Cashflow too greatly.
The status quo delivered us to this moment of fascist acceleration. As Democratic elites in Washington keep proving, they have nothing to offer but behavior that abets and fosters more of the same. Their trajectory is as fixed as the right's.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

The people want a new, more modern political system which is designed to represent who we are and what we want.

A political system with more parties.
A political system without kings or oligarchs.
A political system that's controlled by normal people, not the billionaire few.

Our political system is fundamentally broken. It was not designed to represent the will of the people and it is incapable of doing so today.

The people don't want a king. The people don't want Democrats to surrender. The people don't want only two parties.

The people don't want any of this.

They’re complicit.

Assuming they’re cowardly gives them the benefit of the doubt of being in opposition.

The soon-to-be top elected Democrat might as well have been grown in a lab to be exactly the wrong face for opposition to Donald Trump.

Primary every single one of these fuckers the next time they’re up for reelection. Primary Schumer. No more feckless, weak ass Dems. Either they fight against the Republicans’ fascism, or they get removed from office.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
