I understand there are some high fixed costs for professional teams, mostly related to facilities. But both the WNBA and NWSL are WELL past the point where those costs dominate. There's no reason these leagues shouldn't be able to operate on 50% of revenue

Just a reminder that every NWSL investor not related to Denver or Atlanta has minimum tripled their money. Most have more than 10-bagged.

There's a very big difference between looking for ways to say yes and looking for ways to say no and despite this statement, recent reporting suggests Berman and the league are doing the latter
A league spokesperson sent a statement: “Our goal is to ensure that the very best players in the world, including Trinity, continue to call this league home. We will do everything we can, utilizing every lever available within our rules to keep Trinity Rodman here."

If the Spirit think the contract is legal under the CBA, and the NWSL Players Association thinks it's legal under the CBA, and Berman is saying something about violating the "spirit" of the CBA, it's extremely clearly legal under the CBA right

I was thinking about what constitutes "slop" in the context of travel. There's overexposed places like "that one photo in Macchu Picchu", but also airport lounges came to mind. Once a haven from the harriedness of the rest of the airport, they're now crowded and annoying in their own right.
