Harry Kalas loved Christmas.

So, in 2002, when KYW asked if he'd read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas with local broadcasters, he agreed.

In 2005, a producer rewatched Kalas' solo version. He aired it.

A tradition was born.

Now, it's a way of "keeping him close" www.inquirer.com/phillies/har...
Why Harry Kalas’ rendition of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ still resonates: ‘It was like he was reading to his grandkids’
Harry Kalas passed away in 2009, but his recitation of the famous Christmas poem lives on. The origin story of Kalas' reading includes a rebirth that occurred in 2005.

Would’ve loved Refsnyder as the Marsh platoon partner at that price but the most likely scenario all along has been that his partner will be Otto Kemp and or Weston Wilson

Free agent Rob Refsnyder has agreed to a one-year, $6.25 million contract with the Mariners. Deal includes $250K in incentives. First with agreement: @JeffPassan

Good for the White Sox, as this is a relatively low risk, high reward contract. But it also tells me that the concerns about the holes in Murakami’s swing are very real among MLB teams and there’s a good chance he ends up back in Japan in two years
@JeffPassan tweeted
BREAKING: Third baseman Munetaka Murakami and the Chicago White Sox are in agreement on a two-year, $34 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Murakami, 25, is the single-season home run champion in Japan and will bring his prodigious power to a rebuilding White Sox team.

It’s not a matter of “if” but more “when” with Chase Utley at this point. Hamels is getting much more traction early on than I thought he would

Matt Strahm had the exact mentality I cherish in relief pitchers: willing to pitch anytime, anywhere, any day, and be an absolute lunatic on the mound
For everything you brought to our clubhouse and to our city

Thank you, Matt ❤️
