Listening to @numcog.bsky.social share about automaticity of math facts. I’m always intrigued by the parallels between math and literacy in both robust research findings and common pushback arguments.

😲 In Manitoba, 7 in 10 teachers said either whole language or balanced literacy approaches are used to teach reading. Only 9% reported structured literacy as the most common approach. 60% of teachers & administrators said the current approach to teaching reading isn't working.
