Shouting into the void, obviously, but: October 7th was beyond horrific, that’s understood, but how the fuck does any democratic country remotely justify blocking food from reaching a million starving people. It would be genocide on a massive scale. Israelis must stand up to these madmen in charge.

Yes, me. I felt a palpable relief, quite odd. Agree with Nigel, the racism, stochastic terrorism, the incels, disinfo, it’s just felt grubby. But if you need to stay for professional reasons, take heart that you can be one of the remaining decent voices. Totally valid to stay, I just couldn’t do it.

The NHS just can’t make up the shortfall in trained nurses, and our ageing population means we need carers and more workers generally, to keep the economy going. Can’t understand why neither side will properly admit we need immigration.

Has anyone watched Killers of the Flower Moon? Really odd, cartoonish performance from Di Caprio. And why didn’t they make more of the possibility Mollie was a brilliant strategist, playing the long game? (Obvious plot hole: that a woman of her calibre was ever fooled by that dickhead. No chance.)
