👋🏻 I'm Joacim. I work with visual and interaction design. I'm learning low/no code app development. I like icon and logo design (attached images), video games, adventuring, lego, and I keep a couple humans, cats, and many house plants alive. I want to find fellow people!

I’ve been using Copilot in Visual Studio Code for a while. In general «it works», in depth it’s bad. First impression is good, this is bad because it’s easy to be swayed. Like a siren call, before you understand what’s going on, it’s “too late”. Especially if you use agent mode. Don’t use that.

Watching Day of the Devs, Beastro looks fun to me! Like a delicious combo of sweet games like Wanderstop, Dave the Diver, and Slay the Spire.

Stable update! Plop stomach and segment logic is implemented and works as intended, for now. Onwards with logic for the boxes! This is fun!

I coded some more on Stable in between work tasks today. Now Grep scales up and down when you grab a block, together with the block.

And found out how to hide the OS cursor.

I also made pixel art for the rope function.

Yay progress!

Sure glad I ditched my Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions a while back!

DIY room divider is done! I’m happy with how it turned out, considering I have like at least four thumbs and no electric saw.

Game over idea for Stable. Drew as I thought, or thought as I drew. Maybe a bit of both, and it seems Plop likes frozen goods!

Very specific question, have you ever made a video game where the player character was shown on a device, and not on another? How did you communicate the difference, and did you get any super bad reactions from players?

I’m drawing an idea for rope based gameplay in Stable. It’s meant to be a high risk high reward mechanic where you, if you’re fast can manually empty a box and degrow Plop quickly, and if you’re slow can risk growing Plop.

Here’s the logo head! I’m happy with the silliness, quite me.

Woo! I just ordered silly self designed stickers to slap on stuff! Like my work MacBook. It’ll look at lot better with my silly logo head (shh that’s definitely a type of logo!) on it. (:

Otto's Basketball Game, version 1.0.0, is now done :--) The game is freeware, and you can play it on (or download it from) Itchio.

It's a simple one-button basketball game with lots of silly details and a good kind of homemade feel to it.

Nice read! I’ve done a lot of work understanding my brain and myself the last couple of months. This book was very confirming.

I watched an episode of PLUR1BUS (pluribus?) yesterday. Wow! Thrilling first episode, excited about what's coming up if it's as good or better. Hearing good things. :)
