It is legitimately hilarious that they couldn't figure out what to do with the "The" before JFK's name so it looks even more tacked on.

In watching all the coverage yesterday this was the question in my mind and, as @chrischirp.bsky.social says in the following post to this one, we can't know!!
The important question is whether this year’s flu season will peak soon (and so we have a ‘normal’ serious flu wave, shifted earlier) or whether it will keep going up and only peak towards end of the year in which case it will be a terrible flu season - i.e. are we in scenario A or scenario B. 6/10

I'm somewhat suspicious that delay is to improve the chances of it being a three way contest for the final checkpoint... 🤨 #ratw #raceacrosstheworld

We have built a society in which people of different skin tones, religious backgrounds & cultures get along, share power, work alongside each other, procreate with each other, recognise the each other’s humanity and democratic rights. It is a STUNNING ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD HISTORIC PROPORTIONS.
I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

Kind of amazing how UK news media still remains obsessed with the structurally limited impact in economic terms of small boats even as this potentially terminal havoc works its way through key UK industrial supply chains

Extreme views are heavily over-represented on social media

Social platforms’ tendency to reward hostile content creates incentives that systematically reward simplistic messages and extreme positions and this fuels populism www.ft.com/content/9251... via @jburnmurdoch.ft.com

"I’d love to read an interview with a “British patriot” where they did recognise the facts. I think it might end something like this… 'There’s no two ways about it – I’m being played for a mug. An absolute mug. Sod this for a game of soldiers, I’m going home'.”

Reminder that Putin has never said he wants a trilateral meeting, had never said he would respect Ukrainian sovereignty, and has never said he wants to end the war. Not to be a downer, but the discussion of security guarantees is premature.

Sumption makes the key point in assessing Israel's offensive: attacks must be proportionate. Even if Hamas is located in a civilian area, you can't attack that area regardless of the civilian cost.

There’s too much anger and hostility in politics. We don’t seem able to accept that many decisions are not bad v perfect but a compromise between bad and less worse.

If I had enough of a following, I'd probably get slammed for this but I have sympathy for Rachel Reeves. The pressure right now is major (even if some is of the government's own making) and HoC is an intense cauldron, unpleasantly intimidating at times. Keeping in the tears is tough at times.

This. I'm fed up of the impression created that changing a course in light of new information is some sort of weakness. The weakness is doggedly holding on to a position that has been proven to be inadequate.
