BBNJ-traktaten trer i kraft: hva nå?
FNs havrettskonvensjon om bevaring og bærekraftig bruk av marint biologisk mangfold i områder utenfor nasjonal jurisdiksjon (BBNJ) var vedtatt 19. juni 2023 og trer i kraft den 17. januar 2026. Avtalen vil beskytte det marine miljøet på det åpne hav og den internasjonale havbunn, som er for tiden regulert i havrettskonvensjonen og sektorspesifikke bestemmelser, men mangler et helhetlig vern. Norge har vært blant pådrivere av arbeidet med avtalen, ratifiserte den i 2025.

It is with deep sadness that BlueRights shares that a dear BlueRights member, Professor Steven Haines, has passed away. Professor Haines was an active member of BlueRights and a pioneer in human rights at sea research, who dedicated much of his career to protecting human rights at sea. (1/2)
