This is when every single hospital in the country needs to say no. Shut down all the hospitals and see what happens.
The news of HHS potentially pulling funding for any hospital that provides gender affirming care for youth should terrify everyone. This means the govt can decide what care any of us can receive and hold funding hostage for any hospital that doesn’t bend to its will.

Hey instead of focusing on ruining healthcare for the majority of Americans because hospitals provide care for less than 1% of the population, why don't you actually MAKE HEALTHCARE AFFORDABLE AND STOP CULTURE WARS!

PrEP is an effective—if not the most effective—HIV prevention modality. But the actions of this administration risk all the gains we’ve made, at a time when HIV rates are rising, say @jncherabiemd.bsky.social & Dr. Julia Rosebush. #SaveHIVFunding

Summary of what happened at Temu ACIP this morning:

As expected, they overturned the 30+ year recommendation for the birth dose of HepB vaccine, which has reduced the incidence of pediatric HepB by 99%.

They provided no credible evidence to support this decision.

#ACIP just voted to scrap the universal hepatitis B birth-dose recommendation.

There is no new safety signal. No scientific rationale.

We are dismantling a 30-year-old, cancer-preventing policy that has nearly eliminated hepatitis B in U.S. children. 1/2

Let’s be clear here, the panel did not consider any new evidence. There is no new trial that showed this change was needed or beneficial. This is not gold standard science and is based off the opinions of the new panel, not science

On #WorldAIDSDay, we got a snapshot of data from NYC, which is a bellwether for the epidemic. All progress has stalled and HIV rates have increased. This is in the midst of funding cuts, poor data gathering, and no govt leadership. The fight goes on

Mfers, I’m so over this. World AIDS Day is meant to commemorate all those we lost from the HIV epidemic. The govt will not be commemorating it this year. When I say they are telling you what they want, we need to believe them.

The U.S. government is now inarguably spreading medical disinformation that is going to kill babies preferentially.

Period.

This is an INTOLERABLE. UNPRECEDENTED. DANGEROUS. ATTACK. ON ALL OF US.

This is basically the destruction of trust in our public health institutions…
If there was any doubt at all that the CDC is fully destroyed, this page on autism and vaccines on its website confirms it. It's now just another vessel of dangerous health misinformation. I have no words. This is beyond sad.

Can’t believe the whole country has to suffer through the return of Dickensian childhood diseases because the worst, most ignorant attention-demanders decided other people’s expertise makes them feel bad

A lesson in bad science. You can’t say “there is no evidence vaccines don’t cause autism” when in fact there is no evidence they do. This page claims they are following “gold standard science” when they cherry pick small observational studies that show what they want

Yesterday was a busy day in the STI clinic, but one of my last patients had reported pain during sex. Turns out they had trich, but the more important discussion was what happened when they disclosed to their partner their discomfort, the partner ignored my pt. This is not ok…

Who you gonna turn to in times of crisis then? All this talk is just noise but when crises come, and people die, who you gonna trust?! A lawyer with zero medical experience? Or doctors who have spent decades studying medicine…
RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.
