And on my musical side... Really flattered by this review of my newly released EP with Kimberly Collins. I think the reviewer really got what we were going for with these songs. www.unxigned.com/reviews/ep-r...

An acoustic EP that stirs the soul, wrapping listeners in the warmth of folk simplicity and the rawness of lyrical honesty.

Does anyone know if the new shutdown ending CR funds NIH past December?

Forty days of pain for absolutely no gain. And the Dems wonder why they are so unpopular.
November 10, 2025 at 5:15 AM
Exactly, a 40 day fight for nothing. And a total loss of the political capital and excitement from Tuesday. This is why people are disgusted with the Democratic party.
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

If the Dem senators cave now for just "a promise of a vote" on ACA credits, then all of this pain has been for absolutely nothing.

To put this in perspective, $40 billion is about the entire yearly budget for the National Institutes of Health. Should we be bailing out Argentina, or curing cancer, Alzheimer's and age-related dementia, heart disease...?

Meanwhile, Trump won’t renew subsides for American healthcare.

this really is an inspired idea
If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

When Republicans are pre-butting a pro-democracy rally like No Kings and making shit up left and right to scare people, you know they're losing and in panic mode.

I just realized that Octavia Butler's classic novel "The Parable of the Sower" takes place way off in the future... in 2025.

This right here is Trump's ultimate goal: staying in power
Pritzker: "He wants to militarize major cities because he wants us to get used to the idea of troops on the streets. I believe he's gonna post people outside of polling places and if he needs to in order to control those elections, he'll assume control of the ballot boxes & count the votes himself"

this is good for UCLA, good for the entire University of California, and good for all US universities
UCLA’s funds reinstated after yesterday’s court order! Thanks to the brave researchers and their amazing counsel, including Dean Chemerinsky, who brought suit. This is just another turn in the ongoing fight, but a great result for now.

The more Trump tears things down — especially on public health & science — the more California will step up to take care of business at the state level. Trump is destroying the CDC & making it harder for people to get vaccines. So California is picking up the slack — now moving toward our own CDC!
