Been doing an FPS, and I did a little of it in Godot 3 and I *really* liked the crunchy psx pixel aesthetic. I’ve tried to do a similar thing in Godot 4, and notice it doesn’t look as good. Any ideas what I should do to change this?

Finished Frogger as part of this #Udemy course, have also branched out to another course purely for curiosity’s sake - learning some new stuff, which I think will work for #StarAllVampires I love the lighting effects!

Funny thing I find about #Godot #GodotEngine is I actively look forwards to being able to work on it, mess around on it, watch tutorials in my spare time when I don’t have access to a pc - I never got any of this with Unreal Engine

Making more progress, Frogger game is actually somewhat playable and I’m getting the hang of signals and layers. Have even messed around with another course about Godot 3, solely because I’m a bit of a completionist sort. More soon!

Player is now animated and you get a congratulations message in the debug when you get to the goal. I’m also working hard to try and do the challenges - failing a lot, but always learning!

Annoyed at projects where I’ve realised that I may have jumped too far in complexity (where I’m blindly copying code rather than understanding it) I’m understanding #GDScript better in smaller games such as this WiP Frogger 🚧 🐸 🚧 in this Udemy course

#GameDev #SoloDev #IndieDev #Godot #GodotEngine I’ve tried to make a weapon handler script similar to what I’ve done before, however both guns are still visible (only weapon_1, the pistol, should be visible). Both weapons have canvas layers - what is the correction? Any ideas?

Inspired by “don’t try to be perfect, just make it work first” I’ve adapted an online Godot 3 tutorial for Godot 4 a bit, we now have a muzzle flash, the gun animates when firing, and the enemy has an animation upon dying

#Godot #GodotEngine question: does anyone have a link to either a tutorial or message board where they address how to make a 2D sprite change from various player points of view (just like in Doom) but -also- uses AnimationPlayer and AnimationTree? I ask because the sprites I have aren’t in a sheet

Enjoying the challenge of doing this. Have replaced player guns with the 90s fingerless gloves. Enemy disappears once he runs out of health from you shooting him. Will add more animations and other things soon!

We now have an animated enemy that walks towards us, and the player has a gun (doesn’t fire - yet). I see some of the textures I’ve been using load nicely and look nice on some parts of the 3D but bad in some others - any ideas? #GameDev #SoloDev #IndieDev
