Wow. But also not surprising? Let’s take a stand against kids having food. Those 8-year-old freeloaders need to earn their lunches.

This SNAP drama just keeps getting more and more vile.
🚨 Trump is following Project 2025 to starve Americans, kids:

Project 2025: "the White House must strongly support these reforms... there would be opposition from left-of-center groups who do not want to reform SNAP and would expand welfare and dependency—such as through universal free school meals"
NEW: The Trump admin told states it must immediately "undo" the work to provide full food stamp benefits, or face penalties. The feds sent this in a late-night memo, only adding to the chaos and confusion around SNAP. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...

Hey hey #FossilFriday . A beautiful Discoscaphites conradi from the Fox Hills Formation (Upper Cretaceous) of South Dakota. Not pictured: on the opposite side is nice partial Sphenodiscus. Personal collection, my own photo.

I mean, if a tire company can make an award for restaurants . . .

but I’m also pretty sure the standards for the Michelin stars are more rigorous than whatever criteria FIFA will be using to award Trump his knock-off peace prize.
FIFA? The fucking soccer people? Made a PEACE PRIZE up???

It’s one banana, Michael. What could it cost, 10 dollars?
Hear me out…An episode of The Price is Right, but it’s exclusively people from the Trump administration guessing what different grocery items currently cost.

For once Mike Johnson has some supposed knowledge on a topic and now he can’t stop talking about it. Lol.
What's super interesting to me is that he knows about the elections.

Last of this series. The halfway point along #Route66 is Adrian, TX. Most people know about the MidPoint Cafe, but recently I also spotted this decorative armadillo there in its glorious Texas coat.

....excuse me? this Texas State Senate race in Tarrant County that Trump won by 20 points is doing what?

DID I NOT PREDICT THIS YESTERDAY?!? I posted this is exactly what would happen. This admin is so ridiculously predictable. Ugh.
DOJ and USDA: Yes, your honor, we will comply with your order and make partial SNAP payments out of the contingency fund.

TRUMP: No we won't.

I don’t often think of using the Polaroid for abstracts or detail shots, but it often works out well for those. These are colorful bricks adorning the side of the Motel Safari on Route 66.

The lack of a hard date is telling. This admin thrives on stalling, so without a set date, they will let it lapse until a judge notices their ruling hasn’t been followed. Then everyone will be dragged back to court where the DOJ will argue they’re obeying (vaguely) and not in contempt.
This is a very temporary band-aid from the Trump admin.

42 million hardworking Americans are trying to figure out how they will keep food on the table. Partial is not good enough. End this Republican shutdown now so we can fully fund SNAP. apnews.com/article/snap...
Trump administration says SNAP will be partially funded after judges’ rulings
President Donald Trump’s administration says it will partially fund the SNAP food aid program after a pair of judges’ rulings required the payments to continue.

I don’t really have a lot of good options for today’s #BlueSkyArtShow theme of #autumn , but I did find one I took two years ago at Caddo Lake. Also a clear departure from all the film I’ve been shooting recently.

“The Fisherman” by John Langan.

I loved this one because it’s got a pretty unique premise and delves into the deep desperation of personal loss. SLOW burn. Not for action-lovers.

I can’t be the only photographer who feels compelled to add a disclaimer to any casual phone snapshot they post. “Don’t judge! It’s not a real photo!”

Anyway, here’s one of those. Accidentally drove through #Albuquerque ‘s awesome balloon festival on the way to Utah a couple weeks ago.

Yet again today Mike Johnson reportedly hasn’t seen or heard of a ICE attacking ministers and priests so he has no comment on it.
“Speaker Johnson, the Empire has started construction on a second Death Star, what do you know about that?”

“I never saw those movies so I can’t comment, but the Emperor knows what he’s doing…”
