BBC has a case against Trump. WhiteHouse Chief Press Officer called the BBC ‘100% fake news.’ Which is defamatory and untrue.
Trump says he will sue BBC for between $1 billion and $5 billion despite apology www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A nice observational piece, showing what I learn is a ‘Ferguson Potato Spinner’ in action. Part of a suite of potato machines (mum took turns on this sort of work in the ‘60s - generally women’s labour then), i guess this shows how partial mechanisation was. #Skystorians #TractorCommentary

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

Here's a link to Labour's 2024 manifesto.

It doesn't appear to mention rolling out a national ID scheme (which I think we can agree is a MASSIVE project). Yet Starmer's doing it anyway.

If that's acceptable, why aren't introducing PR, or rejoining the SM, CU or EU?

With no hope or expectation, until this government tells a positive story about this country including immigrants then Reform will keep on winning.

Sure, delivery. But that has to be in the service of a better vision.

Labour appears to have forgotten the golden rule that any law must be both acceptable and enforceable.

If not, the law is brought into disrepute.

Deeply shocked by Israel’s deliberate killing of the Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif, his colleague Mohammed Qreiqeh and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa. Israel has now killed at least 186 journalists in this war.

The problem with much of the centrist commentariat swinging behind the "Britain is broken" idea is not only that the right are weaponizing it to sell their xenophobic/racist narratives, it's also that despair itself has social consequence. Britain is great! It is also in need of public investment.

Crucial point by Sophia Gaston to Commons C'tee:

"The existence of a 'Brexit betrayals' narrative" has a "profoundly depressive" impact on how gov't is approaching the UK/EU relationship. And that is "problematic" because it does not even reflect public opinion, but "coerced by media opinion." ~AA
