Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.

Moscovy Duck

I used my sketch from October for this one. Also I’m including an earlier process pic. The duck seems silly even maybe a little ridiculous however you come at them.

WIP Looking for advice on how to finish this and punch it up. Acrylic on canvas board. Thoughts on glazing and highlights or details? Attempted simplification but maybe too messy?

This is a comforting thought.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Day 25 Southern Lapwing

The red horns sticking out of its mid-wing are meant to intimidate foes and birds of prey. Red is frequently a symbol of badassery in nature.

I'm ridiculous. On the one hand, "is it too loose" and on the other, "is it too persnickety?" I actually think I like it, it's whatever.
