Let’s think about who we please with this: EU citizens or big tech?
The EU’s Digital Omnibus could roll back key parts of the GDPR, AI Act, and ePrivacy rules — laws that set global standards for privacy and AI. Leaked drafts suggest companies could get more leeway on data use and slower enforcement, reports Ramsha Jahangir.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

To unpack a lot of the AI BS, it would be useful to isolate "learning" (as it is used by industry) from deliberately incentivized behavior. Models don't self-optimize, they optimize toward goals set by designers and patterns designers steer them toward based on data designers give them.
