Aisha’s nickname should be on point: Poverty is incredibly expensive, not just because of lack of money, but the time, mental bandwidth, the inability to plan.

Honored to join Leon Andrews on @equalmeasure.org’s #TheMeasurePodcast. We discussed how individualism & deservingness are quietly deciding which families get support, & which get written off. These mindsets shape everything from child care access to health care. But we can choose dignity instead.

It’s our duty as village-keepers to uphold dignity and solidarity in this country. We must not accept the status quo. Real change comes from holding space for one another, coming together despite our differences, and building policies that allow families to thrive. #Wicked #HealthEquity #Solidarity

For years, TV shows have put caregiving on the big screen.. advocates say Hollywood may be the key to achieving national paid leave by showing the reality of work, family, and care.

Most recently The Pitt put this story front and center.. What's next? 📺 https://bit.ly/3Wsm3SJ
Can Hollywood do for paid leave what Congress hasn’t?
TV once made designated drivers mainstream, and 'Will & Grace' changed hearts on marriage equality. Now an effort is underway to get caregiving on screens — and perhaps influence paid family leave pol...

There are moments that make you ask: what kind of country are we becoming? Because this is unimaginable.

ICE raiding an early childcare center is beyond appalling. A place meant for care, turned into fear. Spaces for children are sacred and protected.

Gratitude to workers, working without pay. Honestly, the airline lobby needs to get on Board with releasing the Epstein files, or they should be funded this through a fairer tax rate. They make billions through government subsidy of TSA a service for them. and for our collective safety.
This is going to be a shitshow, so we need to remind each other to be patient and kind. TSA has been working without pay.

📌 The FAA announced major restrictions that experts say could lead to thousands of flights being canceled as the government shutdown drags into day 37.

It’s time to find our local food banks and help out with donations and volunteer hours if you are able.

Too often, we place the burden of structural problems on families—and that’s unacceptable. We must instead change the structures so that they support the health and well-being of families.
