UPDATE: Last night, Andry Hernández Romero, the gay makeup artist and asylum seeker who was wrongly disappeared to El Salvador, was released from CECOT and sent back to Venezuela.

These are two very similar stories of Mississippi families torn apart by ICE.

But Kerlin Moreno-Orellana's story has gotten way less attention on social media than Kasper Eriksen's did, and thus his family's GoFundMe is getting WAY less support.

It's a big disparity.

Keep it up, folks! and stay safe doing so ❤️
The most important story of our time is not what Donald Trump wants to do, but what the people of this country allow him to do.

This took a while to get done, but I've chronicled my day among the protesters in Los Angeles, and the idea that this is anything but a celebration of cultural heritage and a firm, nonviolent demand to protect family, friends and neighbors is totally ridiculous.

Cries of Defiance and Songs of Joy in Los Angeles
The protesters are being called unspeakably violent by the Trump administration. I mostly saw clergy sit-ins and Tejano bands.

to be honest, consider me disgusted seeing all the liberals be snide and focus on the slug part of this press release

For years, American taxpayers have been on the hook for subsidizing National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which spread

REMINDER: Wisconsin has same-day voter registration.

So, if you haven’t registered or recently moved or anything like that, you can register at your polling place (with ID and proof of residence) TODAY.

Every state should do this. It’s great that Wisconsin does this. Go vote.

Okay, Massachusetts: CALL MARKEY.

Compiling what D Senators are telling constituents in this updating post. Some surprises.

Kim: appears to be a hard no

The federal government is methodically hunting and rooting out LGBTQIA+ people from service (with the help of alt right trolls) and this is the best NYT could muster.

It’s pathetic and dangerous.

This is why it feels wrong to capitulate. It is.
"Gulf of Mexico" is a set of arbitrary syllables that have been used, for a time, by English-speakers, to refer to a large body of water.

The body of water is not really the Gulf of Mexico or only the Gulf of Mexico. 🧵

Elon—the richest man on Earth—is gutting the world’s largest provider of food aid. He could end world hunger single-handedly and still be the richest man alive. But he won’t.

Instead, he spent 40 million on Super Bowl ads attacking USAID!

Stand with USAID: share this counter-ad…

Elon Musk apparently spent $40 million on an ad to mislead you and your loved ones about the critical work of USAID during the SuperBowl. I guess he doesn't like the push back so keep it up!

If you agree, please call Congress and save USAID.

I actually wish the media would stop using "DEI" and "diversity hiring" and just get to the essence of the thing and ask:

"Are you saying that this crash was caused by desegregating the races?"

And see what happens.
REPORTER: Are you saying this crash was somehow was the result of diversity hiring?

Great rundown

/// And the 14th Amendment's citizenship clause was inserted *specifically* to say "fuck you, no, we said jus solis and we meant jus solis, for everyone" ///
So, folks on here have probably caught a whole bunch of lawyers and law professors (correctly) lashing out at a law professor (Ilan Wurman) for suggesting there's some meaningful "literature" supporting Trump's attack on birthright citizenship that the courts didn't "engage with"

It's worth taking
