More and more often recently I find myself wishing that I could return to the time when I knew nothing about how to go about making my art. Don't get me wrong, I'm obviously way better at it today than I was ten years ago, but now every time I finish something I feel like the work is better than me?

Scotland has passed a law that all new buildings must install ‘swift bricks’ which are hollowed out bricks to help nesting swifts and other endangered birds! Swifts are especially endangered because so many chimneys now have chimney caps. Swifts return to the same nesting spot year after year.

Over the past 11 years I have written a good chunk of music and I am pretty proud of how far I have come with it, despite not having found time for actual like, professional training. But more and more recently I find that it is really difficult for me to make something just for the sake of making.

one of my friends told me about some speedrun today where you have to play a bunch of games in a row and they decided recently that you're "allowed to take a break" but only if the speedrun is over sixteen hours long??? who the hell is deciding this and why do we care about their opinion

I think the press is not talking enough about how the real reason Alamo implemented the new phone ordering system is so they can lay off more workers. Like, yeah it's antithetical to the Drafthouse vibe but I don't think that's the biggest issue here.
