I love O'Donnell, and his takes and insights are always fantastic.

(But, the issue is that what they got for ending the shutdown was merely a return to the status before the shutdown happened at all... and Schumer still stinks, maybe not as a Senator but as a leader.)

It wouldn't surprise me if they pressured someone to flip to a "no" on the discharge petition just prior to Grijalva being sworn in. If so, it would be amazing for two previous "no" votes to immediately switch to "yes." Then it's done- locked in and recorded. Johnson would have a stroke on the spot.
BIG NEWS: Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva will finally be sworn in as a member of Congress tomorrow.

She is likely to be the 218th vote on the Epstein discharge petition, which would force a full vote to release the Epstein files in their entirety.

seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
