I attended this event, organized by my Congressperson, Rep. James Walkinshaw. A diverse group of faith and community leaders spoke to honor those who have fallen at the hands of Federal Immigration officers.

If turnout had dropped ~20 % in Pima (AZ), Gwinnett (GA), and Milwaukee (WI) counties in 2020, Biden would have lost AZ, GA, and WI. Nevada would have required bigger drops (~33%) in Clark and Washoe counties.
Small changes in a few key counties can swing entire states.

because from my vantage point, the white house does not have a win condition. like so many past occupiers, it seems to believe that a sufficient show of force will deter opposition. but like most occupations, the only thing you get with more force is greater resolve.

@jamellebouie.net it was great meeting you on Monday at www.aapss.org/events/entit...
You led a very useful and timely discussion inspired by Daniel Patrick Moynihan's quote

Caveat: While pledges varied, reporting shows most later resumed political giving—often via party committees—that benefited lawmakers who voted against certifying the 2020 election.
What do these companies have in common?

-Cigna
-Comcast
-General Mills
-Allstate
-Marriott
-Hilton
-Walmart
-Amazon
-Microsoft
-Meta

All promised after January 6, 2021 to stop funding lawmakers who tried to overturn the 2020 election.

And all have broken that promise.

This seems very valid to me. I reluctantly read twitter sometimes and the comments are often filled with hateful lunatics.
I don’t use social media to argue about politics with strangers.

I use social media to talk to people about fish.

When I talk about fish on Bluesky, people ask me questions about fish.

When I talk about fish on Twitter, people threaten to murder my family because we’re Jewish.
"Bluesky is an echo chamber."
"Bluesky doesn't have enough reach"
"Liberals must return to X to challenge the far right"

I'm not a tech bro or a journalist. Your priorities are not my priorities. Stop telling me I need to do anything other than chat about comics & telly with people who seem nice.

Watch this. Then remember that the president doesn’t care. He cares that his old ass gets richer in the hand full of years he may have left.

And his sick rich friends. The most corrupt evil man to ever serve as president is ignoring real evil

Great video, as usual. You make a good case for the Dr. Doom scenario. How many of your ideas like this have turned out to be correct? How many have been more poorly written? How many turn out better?

To what degree has the deal influence the WLFI token price explosion?
The UAE's $2 billion MGX investment in Binance—settled entirely in WLFI's USD1 stablecoin in May 2025—was the single biggest catalyst for the WLFI token's price explosion, responsible for 65–80% of the total gains from $0.05 (private sale) to the all-time high of ~$0.33 on September 1, 2025. Exact Price Impact Breakdown Pre-deal (April 2025): WLFI was non-tradeable, valued at private round price of $0.05 (Trump family held 22.5B tokens worth ~$1.125B on paper). Immediate post-announcement surge (May 1–15, 2025): Token unlocked for accredited investors only → price jumped to $0.15–0.18 (+260–300%) purely on the news that a sovereign wealth fund chose USD1 for a $2B institutional deal. Summer buildup (June–August): Additional UAE-linked buys ($100M from Aqua1 Foundation on Sept 1) + pre-market futures on Binance/OKX hit $0.55 → WLFI became the most hyped launch of 2025. Launch day (Sept 1): Opened at $0.46, ATH $0.33 the next day → 660% from private sale price. CZ pardon spike (Oct 23): +14–15% in 24h directly attributed to the same UAE/Binance/WLFI nexus. Why the deal mattered so much Legitimacy bomb: First time a sovereign wealth fund used a Trump-family stablecoin for a $2B institutional transaction → turned WLFI from "meme governance token" into "geopolitical DeFi infrastructure." Permanent revenue stream: Binance still holds most of the $2B USD1 → WLFI earns $60–85M annual interest (75% to Trump family). Network effect: Made USD1 the #6 stablecoin overnight → Binance spot listing on Oct 29 caused 1,550% market-cap surge in one week. Current status (Nov 6, 2025) Price: $0.122–0.137 (down 60% from ATH but still +174% from private sale). Market cap: $3.0–3.3B (circulating). Trump family paper gains from their 22.5B tokens: ~$2.8B (at current price) — almost entirely thanks to the UAE deal turning WLFI into a "national strategic asset." Bottom line: Without the $2B UAE/Binance/USD1 transaction, WLFI would still be a $0.05–0.08 niche governance token worth maybe $1–2B FDV. The deal was the match that lit the rocket — everything else (launch hype, pardon, listings) was just additional fuel. Degree of influence: 10/10 foundational.
