I just learned that in Quebec, starting now, you will go to a prison according to your anatomical sex. WTF. Here we can transition to a new gender without surgical requirement so what does it mean for trans women inmate that can’t access surgeries for health reasons like age?

An observation: there was tons of interest in this story from French-language media and independent media (even a lil from international) but none from Canadian, English-language MSM.
I wonder why.

Since when do segments get cancelled due to “pushback”on factual content? 4 yrs after 140 newsrooms signed a collective letter against the harassment of their most vulnerable journalists that was ironically propelled by Rachel,me & Erica Ifill. What chilling message is being sent to journalists?
I’m devastated, but I’m also angry. I’m angry because this is an attack on press freedom.
If opportunities can be stripped from journalists simply because enough people repeat the same bad-faith narrative, how can anyone withstand the career impact of doing work that matters?
