I heard from someone today who works in freightech that inbound loads have already begun to drop. All of this could end tomorrow. From a freight perspective, the longer it goes on, the longer it will take to unwind (just like with Covid).

One reason why the hard data isn’t showing much effect from tariffs is that importers stockpiled in anticipation. When stockpiles run out, things will start to degrade. (Unless Trump changes his mind by then)

Having worked for a freight brokerage I can tell you that these aren’t the only lanes that will dry up. A lot of small and medium businesses in the industry (truckers and those who support them) are about to go under.
