Happy St Martin's Day! May we follow his example in renouncing violence, giving to Christ in the poor, and defending the orthodox truth of the Incarnation against Arian heresy. 🕯️

Hey guys, no Rapture today. There’s still plenty of time to love your neighbor as yourself!

Is everybody else still here?
The rapture had better not happen Tuesday. I’ve got my church’s Pride booth to run next weekend, then Chappell Roan tickets the weekend after!

I’m drinking a sproda with Dr. Pepper today at work, and it is very tasty! Maybe even better than one with Coke!

I am at the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri's Camp Firebird this week as a counselor. The first full day of training was great! Your prayers for myself, my co-counselors, and my campers are thoroughly envied and appreciated! Peace!

“We said we don’t want this on our property,” a Los Angeles pastor told mass abduction agents who showed up at his church.

“The whole country is our property,” Downey Memorial Church Pastor Al Lopez said an agent shouted at him:

ICE activity reported at 2 Downey churches

A lot of adopted trans kids go through a version of this experience too. Too many parents think they own their children in literally all economic systems, but capitalism puts a dollar value on that in a way that's icky.

Instead of watching the Oscars I’m at True/False Film Festival, and I feel like that is probably the better option here. I have no idea who won what, but I do know that Deaf President Now!, The Track, and Listen to the Voices were all fabulous documentaries!

It may be a good time to recall that almost 100 yrs ago wealthy businessmen hatched a scheme to weaken progressive Christianity because the social gospel wasn’t conducive to corporate profits. They poured $$$ into Chr orgs that preached a different tune: the gospel of free market capitalism.

I got invited to a Forum at Princeton Theological Seminary, but with everything else I am planning to do this year I won’t have enough PTO to attend without being completely overworked for the next 8 months 🫠

At my polling place an election judge kept on making jokes about accepting bribes. There was a problem with my registration (we got it resolved), so I was there for about 45 minutes, and he did this *three times!*

Does anyone in the Episcopal/Anglican corner of this site have any leads on simplified versions of the Collects—not just the updated language from the Contemporary Propers in the BCP —but shorter and more casual versions? ⚓ #WAT
