It is nothing new for customers either. They also charge to split a bill in to quarterly payments (instead of paying ahead of time!), every little feature is an "upgrade", etc. Last time they tried to explain it to me, I responded literally "cry me a river, you have over $100B in the bank".
Last year Microsoft made $88 billion (that's billion, with a B) in profit on $245B in revenue. That's a 36% profit margin. The idea that they have to put 9000 people out of work in order to improve profitability is absolutely ghoulish. This is not a struggling company, they're swimming in profit.

Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

Again, if you've got a Republican representing you in Congress -- and I don't care who it is -- call them to complain about the tariffs. They're panicking.
Heard Ron Johnson - extremely Trumpy senator - on NPR this morning and even he couldn't defend the tariffs. The most generous thing he could bring himself to say was "I have concerns" and "we'll see what happens." You can bet that privately Republicans are freaking out.
