A search is underway after a woman was swept into a flooded creek in the Hunter region overnight, as heavy downpours continue to batter large parts of northern New South Wales.
Police said the car, a Mini, was being driven by a 27-year-old woman in Rothbury, near Cessnock, when it became stuck on Old North Road, through the swollen creek, just before 8pm on Saturday. Continue reading...

I just published Version 1.6. The main update is that the source data for CAMELS-AUS was upgraded to CAMELS-AUS v2. This means more basins (561 vs 222) and more recent streamflow data (2022 vs 2014).

For dairy farmer James McRae, the floods arrived in a perfect storm.
It had been a wet autumn on the New South Wales mid-north coast, saturating the soil, which made it hard to sow new pastures. When 200mm of rain hit overnight on Monday, low-lying farms in his community of Barrington were “completely decimated”.
