Context eats breakfast for dinner. Or something. PCUSA pastor over here wondering about… well… everything.
I was honored to preach at the PCUSA headquarters in Louisville on July 24, 2025. I was there for my work with the Unification Commission.
What the hell, Saul!
Saul wasn’t a terrible king. He was the first of his kind. There was no template when Saul became king. No rulebook. No precedent. He was literally building the kingdom while he was “kinging” it.

I fear for all of us. Every day. But not more than I fear for my trans family - bio and chosen.
I need y'all to sit with this headline and understand what is being done to our community. They're trying to criminalize our very existence.

This is a campaign of eradication.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

A year ago today, as hundreds of starving Palestinians waited in line for humanitarian aid, including flour for bread, the Israeli military opened fire, killing over 100 Palestinians and wounding over 700.

They massacred people seeking bread for their families.

The corporations and billionaires who run them are taking over our government.

Five major financial institutions were all under federal investigation for fraud. All five cases were just dropped by Trump and Musk.

Unpopular words probably: we might be able to know if we stopped thinking that only if WE count the people or provide money to count the people that they will be counted. Those who live in the affected countries know how many are dying. They know how many are impacted. We need to trust their data.

I need 🧪 to understand that this political moment is not the same as 2020 when support for *voicing support* for Black Lives Matter was so mainstream even big corps were doing it.

You are about to be targeted by COINTELPRO type ops, SS-style state policing, etc.

Breathe. Embrace your free time. Pour into your community. Respect what you can't control. Reject nihilism. Remember pace and perspective. Burnout is the enemy and helps no one, least of all yourself, and should be stridently avoided. That's the only way we're gonna get through this. And we will.
