I'm finally realising how Ai has completely killed the status of the written assignment academia - I knew it before but seeing it in play is something else. I guess vivas, exams and in-person presentations are the only way forward.

In a storytelling workshop, I tasked MA Radio students with cutting my #AudioDoc ‘Vessels of Memory’ from 28 to 10 mins

Cue reading reviews and reminiscing…

In an era where there are fewer and fewer cultivated platforms for emerging and early-career producers to broadcast imaginatively crafted and beautifully audiophonic work, the waves made by the discontinuation of Short Cuts will ripple for years to come. Please support @fallingtreeprod.bsky.social
After 12 years on the radio, @josielong.bsky.social's Short Cuts will have its last series on BBC Radio 4 this winter.
