Politically, environmentally, technologically and socially up the creek. Hoping for a change but not for the worse.. Getting older looking for new ways of aging in place. Masking in crowded public places.
Forwarded to a couple of people I know who have experience of delirium and found it very frightening.
Delighted to share details of @nihr.bsky.social James Lind Alliance research priority setting survey for delirium. For completion by UK health/social professionals and those with personal experience of delirium.
Complete the survey and have your say. More details 👇

If I was going to deliver "the largest ever digital inclusion programme ever delivered" I'd start by going and talking to the community organisations all over the country who have almost zero-support from govt in meeting unmet need, and who will have little capacity to engage in a govt consultation

I would be bloody surprised if Reform UK's showboating "DOGE" efforts - which Yusuf has been smart enough to dissociate himself from - go after Councils outsourcing child or adult social care provision to private equity backed profiteers. They are in thrall to free markets

An interesting point at the Data and AI CSO Network this week was the distinction between "digital inclusion by getting everyone to adopt digital" and "digital inclusion by providing non-digital alternatives".

The first is impossible, the second shows the limits of the digitalness of digital ID.

This is a grave threat to democracy, human rights and civil liberties. Everyone should be alarmed and getting organised to fight back. This is urgent.
This is the densest article I have written to date on the UK duopoly's nationwide rollout of Freeports, Special Economic Zones, and AI Growth Zones.
Please take the time to read and share it.

I haven't read it yet, but HEPI has a report out on AI and the Future of Universities. Includes a chapter by Vint Cerf (!!!). But also one "by" ChatGPT (who cannot be ascribed authorship). I'll read the former and skip the latter, I think.

England hospitalisations up significantly.
Positive tests and COVID-19 deaths up.
Await today's data @ukhsa.bsky.social
Why such large increases?
Limited vaccine eligibility, waning immunity, low priority at leadership level, mixing in poorly ventilated, cramped spaces. Scant use of face coverings.
