Me encanta cómo están aprovechando Welcome to Derry y que sea prácticamente terreno inexplorado dentro del canon de Stephen King para meter referencias a otras de obras. Aparte de la más evidente, en el tercer episodio hubo una que me gustó bastante.

One of the best possible thoughts I can have about a late sequel is "damn, they did a Last Jedi with this one" (thematically relevant, right amount of meta, formally fresh, but also respectful of the past and openly entertaining), and both 28 Years Later and Badlands nailed it this year for me.

There's so much great stuff happening in that script, and a lot of praise and hate is getting too hung up on "plot" and "lore", both things which ultimately don't answer why you connected (or didn't) with a piece of fiction. It's a lean but really smart script.

Low-key one of the best things about Badlands is that Trachtenberg follows up on his thoughts on Yautja/dudebro toxic masculinity and self-defeatist culture by adding a "no, fr, how do they even have a civilization" by instantly providing a half-answer that's both funny and thematically perfect.

I was low-key hoping for a post-Resurrection Alien at some point, but I'll also take this and a potential AvP fucking off into the future. Everything about Badlands feels like a new horizon. Exciting franchise-building!

Excellent. I figured as much after seeing how advanced WY's tech was vs. past entries + a couple of interesting comments from Tessa, but it's great to have confirmation.
Saw Trachtenberg confirm that PREDATOR: BADLANDS takes place after ALIEN: RESURRECTION (2381), which occurs 260 years after ALIEN (2122), meaning BADLANDS is the farthest along in both the ALIEN and PREDATOR franchises. Very interesting, and leaves the door wide open for them to explore stuff.
