Almost a decade later, this is still one of the most meaningful things I have written. My Dad passed away the previous year, so Duncan's beautiful story of finding peace with his Dad's disappearance set deep roots in me to this day.

Stumbled across Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator (1940), a funny, satirical masterpiece. Haven't see it since college. I had forgotten the film ends in this speech that, perhaps, might be worth a watch today (and every day for the next three years) as a reminder.

We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.
