Still working through my watchlist, but confident it will take a lot to knock any out of this line-up.

I go long on only seeing two on the big screen (the industry's choice, not mine) and brief on each film.

Not only is it good that Boston cleared the bench to celebrate Pasta’s 400th goal, but it’s hilarious that it happened against Toronto since their entire team refused to even acknowledge when Tavares scored his 500th. Leafs might make the playoffs, but they are a bigger joke than the Sabres.

New double feature idea:

David Lynch's LOST HIGHWAY
Alireza Khatami's THE THINGS YOU KILL
a dark road with a few lights on the side
Alt: Moving fast on the double yellow lines of a back road where sparse light only illuminates the speed at which we're traveling.

If you think there is an iota of shame left among them you have been asleep since 2016.
Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

At what point do we acknowledge that both major political parties have failed themselves, and us, and that it’s time for something new to represent everyday Americans?

This perfectly encapsulates how I feel living in the US. The republican party is an insane death cult, the democratic party is 3 corporations in a trench coat, and the "socialists" are just the completely normal left-wing capitalists you'd find in any of 2 dozen European nations.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given

Too lazy to read Mary Shelley’s novel before GDT’s new cinematic adaptation (I might still try to listen to it), so I watched James Whale’s 1931 film instead.

A ★★★½ review of Frankenstein (1931)

Caught up with THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS. It’s fun, pretty, and mostly a TV show pilot without a second episode until December 2026.

A ★★★½ review of The Fantastic 4: First Steps (2025)
"Die with yours." I’m all for style over substance and emotional impact over narrative depth, but The Fantastic Four: First Steps is very much a gorgeous toy that sufficiently distractions us for two ...

Fingers crossed that Greece choosing ARCADIA as their Oscar Submission this year means it still might get that US release. I'm desperate to watch it again.
Refreshed my Top Ten of 2025 list for first time since July now that the FYC screeners are coming in. This isn't my voting list as SPARROW IN THE CHIMNEY will be added due to its US release in 2025 and ARCADIA will be removed due it never securing US distribution.
