I felt the Lego itch once again, so I splurged a bit on some Lego and a Blue Brixx advent calendar for the winter months

I'm working on a VRC world right now that's mainly lit by audio reactive Light Volumes and I was wondering if there was a better way to deal with non-LV avatars than just having them be very dark? Not sure if there's already some convention among world creators or something.

I found some motivation to work on the particle sphere idea again, and I finally got the simulation to work how I wanted now. Also I found that putting the sphere next to the main platform actually looks pretty cool too (maybe even better?) while also being a lot less disorienting.

I just made some tortellini filled with pork and the packaging had a little label about how no baby chickens were killed for it?? I... uhm... kinda expected that to always be the case for a pork product 😅

I recently fell in love with the album I Love My Computer from Ninajirachi, so much so that I decided to buy my first physical music medium in over 10 years.

I have to say, it feels nice to support an artist by buying a physical album and to know that I now have a copy that no [..]

I started watching the anime Clevatess yesterday and finished it today. Until like 95% of the first episode I was sure I wouldn't continue watching it, but then I was hooked 'til the end. It's not the best anime I've ever watched, but I had a good time nonetheless.

I just got reminded that Snapchat still exists. I don't think I've opened the app at all the last 2-3 years. Anyone here still using it?

I created a little Grafana dashboard to calculate how much power my electronics use over one whole year and the unit automatically switched to MWh for my PC 😭

At least now I have definitive proof of where a lot of my electricity bill comes from 🙃

I really believe generative AI is a cognitohazard to an entire column of humanity. I don't know, there's a something it fucking does to people that displaces their own entirely-capable cognition and independence, further they seemingly cannot perceive the deficits of. This is not a moral argument.

I just noticed that frickin Softonic made a fake SEO page for a chrome extension I maintain. Does that mean I've made it now? :D

I made a little script to send me notifications whenever one of my SteamVR devices stops charging. That should hopefully fix the problem of the powerbank in my pocket running out and the Quest suddenly losing charge without me noticing. Maybe it also helps someone else.

Through the magic of buying two of them I have now hopefully forever fixed my Quest battery running out.

Tried running Handbrake on Linux today:

- Flatpak version: Doesn't open filepicker (???)
- Unofficial AppImage: Crashes when transcoding
- Version from apt: 100 years out of date

I guess that's a "no" then 🤷‍♂️

Walking through Florence would be a lot nicer if there wasn't a fucking car squeezing through the pedestrians every five seconds. No idea why that's even allowed, the streets are clearly not designed for this much car traffic.

I never thought it would get to this point... but honestly i am out of options. I'm incredibly ashamed to ask for help... but it's literally my last option at this point without any Family that could help me get past this...

Okay I'm sorry but how fucking mega popular is this movie? 😅 The soundtrack has hundreds of millions of plays on Spotify and even scammy wallpaper apps about it have 100k+ downloads on the Play Store. I only heard about this because of its unique animation style, lol

Just watched Kpop Demon Hunters and even though I have no connection to k-pop whatsoever, the movie is absolutely fantastic. Stunning visuals, beautiful story and some banger tracks as well.

Even though I saw not one but two reddit posts about this yesterday, I still got startled for a sec when I was on the subway and suddenly all the phones including my own went off from the emergency cell broadcast that's sent out as a test in Germany today :D

Just remembered the quote "I've never wished a man dead, but I've read some obituaries with great pleasure." for some reason.

Apparently it's often wrongfully attributed to Mark Twain but was actually said by Clarence Darrow, who was an American lawyer.

I have taught a machine to imperfectly detect handwritten digits in VRChat!

Or to put it another way: I wanted to finally get into some basic machine learning and decided to implement the Hello World of the ML world to get started.

Did VRChat remove the menu option to see your own uploaded avatars? 😅 I only see Recently Used, Purchased, favorites and test avatars, but no way to switch into my own uploaded ones? Wtf?

Usually I don't have much of a problem with Python, but today I'm getting constant SSL errors when trying to install stuff with pip or read the documentation and I'm about to punch a fucking hole in the wall. What the hell is going on over there, oof
