I rarely intervene in such matters, but probably because our widely respected Political Editor @adambienkov.bsky.social in 2019 reported that Dale, then Tory candidate for Tunbridge Wells, previously said he "never liked the place". He then stood down.

Very likely why he discredited Byline Times.

The Green Party's Caroline Lucas humiliates Reform UK's Zia Yusuf on #Newsnight

"Your position is utterly incoherent"

"You have provided no evidence that it's the Equalities Act that discriminates against white working class boys"

Not new. Reform policy in 2024 manifesto. (2 sentences)

"Replace the 2010 Equalities Act"
"The Equalities Act requires discrimination in the name of ‘positive action’. We will scrap Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I) rules that have lowered standards and reduced economic
productivity"

Many people - Yusuf included - do not know this

"There are no protected groups in the Act, only protected characteristics. A white man is just as protected on characteristics of race and sex as a black woman. Yet many believe the Act is just there to protect minorities"

BBC Newsnight covers Reform's pledge to scrap Equality Act [as Braverman mentioned it today]

"Whatever intention was of passing the EA" says Zia Yusuf, "it stops discrimination against some people in its current form, but actually industralises discrimination against others"

A common misconception

Why didn't Farage just answer the question about Reform's education policy?

Why did he seek to mock and ridicule the journalist asking a perfectly legitimate question and try to deligitimise the FT?

Easy. That's who he is. An arrogant man who doesn't have any policies beyond pointing at the sea.

Today Reform’s ‘equalities’ spokesperson- Braverman- has said she’ll repeal the Equalities Act on ‘day one’. In the US, we know where this dehumanisation leads. Broadcasters who challenge are censored and taken off air and minority allies get shot in the face and killed. Is this heading to facism?

ALSO - if you missed out on your childhood measles vaccine and haven't had measles, you can get *free* MMR vaccination from your GP! (whether as an older child, teenager or adult).

I got my MMR about 10 years ago!

Nigel Farage lashes out at a FT journalist and refuses to answer the question.

Is this how Reform UK would ignore media questions if they got into government?

Presumably because if he becomes Prime Minister, there’ll be no NHS.
