Reform UK: a one-man band.

Former Reform UK councillor: “Independence is not something that’s valued within Reform.”

Yes, the Tory led East Sussex County Council was one of them, similarly in West Sussex.
Some were Labour and some LibDem.

It's infuriating isn't it. Postponing elections to allow for local government reorganisation is nothing new, the councils involved were asked to choose if they wished to go ahead or not & Reform stirred the pot again, the press jumped in again & now it is an expensive shit-show. I'm sick of it.

COUNCILS wanted to delay some council elections NOT the government.

Farage took them to court and now it will cost the taxpayer £60+ MILLION.

Most of the country has some sort of election this May.

Are you registered to vote?

How do you intend to defeat Reform or you're not even registered?

If you are, double check.

Then encourage others to register - children at uni, friends or neighbours who have moved house.

We can all do our bit!

Is t it odd that the mess Reform councillors are making in the councils they control is never mentioned in MSM?
Their resignations , their u- turns ? Nothing

Stop spinning it like some scandal BBC. It’s dishonest Reform UK bias. Most of these councils won’t even exist in a year because of reorganisation. So these votes are basically a pointless waste of time and money. Councils asked for delays - most of them under Tories. The Government just agreed.

I will not be lectured to on sovereignty by a tinpot politician who binned our national pride and authority in the World, to pander to racist halfwits who believe Donald Trump has our best interests at heart.

They are the real traitors.

In short there are many alternatives and none of the problems listed here are for real. Labour have this right, lead is a poison and we should not allow it to be spread over our countryside.

Nigel Farage said in 2022 that MPs defecting to another party and then refusing to call a by-election was

“no go, it’s not right, it is dishonorable”

So where are the by-elections for all those MPs who have now joined Reform?

What’s the cost of running those elections, for councils that won’t exist in 12 months time, I wonder?

£100k? That's nothing, the 30 councils wanted to suspend the elections because election costs fall on them. Now, they have to pay for this May's election, go through a massive reorganisation, then have another election. The Govt will now have to support these 30 councils with their costs...£63m.

This is all about self-promotion again, Farage is costing us a fortune and the papers are using it as another reason to attack Starmer, when they should be reporting on Farage and his wasting tax payers money.

Labour hasn't done a U-turn they were taken to court, so after legal advice reinstated the elections. Why they wanted them postponed "councils were concerned with cost to taxpayers of holding elections for councils due to be abolished" In a year results will be irrelevant but cost us £63 million.

Labour are once again favourites with Ladbrokes to win the most seats at the next General Election - narrowly.

Labour at 13/8 with Reform at 7/4 (14/8) and the Conservatives at 11/2

The election is probably over three years away: Reform lead the polls, but have dipped to 28% from 31%

The whole thing is odd back in 2021 the then Tory Government postponed Local Authority elections in areas going through reorganisation very little complaints and no legal challenges. All very strange I do wonder whether Reform really wanted this decision…

Reform UK Ltd have just cost 30 councils about £175,000 each, so they can have a few more councillors for a few months. I just hope that in those few months, those same councillors continue to show how useless they are.

This is certainly my experience.

Just before my time as a County Cllr, Greens stopped council homes being built on council-owned land (the only vaguely plausible way council housing could be built at the time).

1/2
"The Green Party has a habit of supporting things in principle and opposing them in practice. It wants environmentally friendly transport, then opposes HS2. It wants clean energy, but opposes wind farms locally. It supports affordable housing, but opposes almost every building project it sees."
