So glad that @kevinguyan.bsky.social joined us in @uompols.bsky.social this week! Really appreciate his work complicating how and why we collect queer data. Grateful that he also took some time for cuppa with a group of staff and students in a very festive Christie's Bistro!

Read this. Audi is a friend of mine, and we really got to know each other during that 2019 time period. We lived across the park from each other, sharing meals, going for walks, organizing queer & feminist happy hours. In the back of her mind I know she was also thinking about her green card status.
What happens when the American dream has a $30,000 price tag, a 15-year waiting list, and changing goal posts.

I love this thread - including photos of lesbians organizing at Beijing in 1995!

In my book I look at this lesbian advocacy as it relates to the movement for women's peacebuilding globally.

2. Global humanitarian funding has collapsed 53% in two years - from $43.3 billion in 2022 to $20.3 billion today. The US alone dropped from $14.1 billion to $3.06 billion. No donor bloc is positioned to replace what's been lost. (2/x)

The global humanitarian system is disintegrating in real time; this is the reality for @unhcr.org:

1. UNHCR is ending 2025 with $1.3 billion less than last year, a 30% workforce reduction, and 185 offices consolidated or closed. (1/x)

In my brief critical reflection for
@politicsgenderj.bsky.social
I argue for moving beyond rhetoric to meaningfully engage with LGBTQ communities in WPS efforts, and what this means in terms of practical steps for creating space for queer perspectives in peacebuilding.
