If you’ve not read about what happened in Stillwater, I implore you to take a second and do so, and then give to the program that directly assisted the survivors if you are able. I think that is the least we can do in this situation.

Hoping to gain some momentum this week. As I continue the job hunt, I have two stories greenlit for the month so far. I’m optimistic that I’ll get more this coming week!

In the meantime, keep sharing and/or donating, if you can! 🩷🩷🩷 gofund.me/596fde0bf

I need to get back to writing analysis regularly again because I have a backlog of ideas, but I have to finish this short story collection I’m working on first for my MFA thesis first. Compartmentalization sucks when you want to do everything at once.

🖤 Franny Friday. 🖤 A little wide frame look at “The Second Circle” to kick off your weekend. The final format will be 4.3, and we filmed with a grid on the monitor to make sure that it would all line up as planned.

one hundred seventy eight

joe delia • ms. 45

the best rape-revenge film in existence has an incredible score, and i'm glad to own it

it came with a giant poster of the painting of thana that graces the cover and now i need to find a frame to fit it...

Facing eviction. That publication still has NOT paid me, so things couldn’t be more dire. 💔

I’ve been applying for jobs for several weeks now and no response 😓

- donating to your nearest food bank is community
- supporting your peers in tough times is community
- swapping what money we have back and forth is community

prioritizing direct support during national food/housing insecurity is community. this is what i'm focusing on as the holidays gear up.

It's wild to have a class full of students hyped about The Crucible and learning more about drama, but I can say I am elated. Life's weird, but it's moments like this that make it all worth it. This is also just the perfect time to be interrogating The Crucible.

Hadn't heard of No Telling!

I saw Birth/Rebirth in theaters on a few hours' notice and I'm so glad, everyone involved in it did an incredible job (though I would single out Marin Ireland: as our Frankenstein, rather than chewing scenery, she's clinical and flat in a MOST interesting way).
If you want some more Frankenstein flavored fare after you've watched del Toro's adaptation, I have to suggest that you seek out No Telling (1991), Depraved (2019), and Birth/Rebirth (2023). These are three extremely original riffs on the material and some of the finest in my opinion.
