Watched the first ep of Starfleet Academy last night. It's very much a sequel to Discovery in that it sometimes feels a bit too BUSY for no reason but otherwise seems like it could be really fun. I like all the characters so far.

I think we’ve got better and more culturally-varied street food than I could have imagined, cool jackets galore, and drugs that make us think we’re really fast and strong before they kill us.
we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

OTD in 2012, I finished L.A. Noire on PS3. I remember some of the interrogation mechanics being a bit wonky, but I loved the open world. Kind of surprised this was a one-and-done I feel like they could have spun this into a cool franchise.

OTD in 2021, I finished the story mode for STAR WARS SQUADRONS on Xbox. It was a really nice campaign, it really feels like they took what little resources they had (compared to a AAA single player story game) and just swung for the fences and delivered something pretty great.
