Going on the record defending why your government isn't offering a fair deal by inflating the previous deal by 5% isn't a good negotiation tactic.

@davidebybc.bsky.social people are struggling. And according to you, they already got this. Come back with a fair deal.

Hearing from my coworkers at the Victoria Bike Valet downtown that they are FULL, as the BCGEU labour protest amasses large numbers to head to the Legislature.

This is, in my recollection, the first time we've actually had to turn people away.

Thousands of striking BCGEU and PEA members and their supporters rally on the legislature lawn demanding a better wage offer. The PEA lead negotiator says the government latest offer “takes us backwards” when considering inflation and cost of living increases.

When I saw Jon Stewart was doing an episode kissing Trump's butt (ironically) I thought it would be amazing if the Colbert Report came back to do it right.

Well. I sorta got my wish.

Hey @davidebybc.bsky.social and @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social. The ratio of excluded management positions to union workers has crept up to 1-to-3. If we reduce it down to a more reasonable 1-to-4 ratio we would save $275m/yr. The current BCGEU proposal only ads $91m/yr. 🤯

I'm not the best at math. But if you're already paying someone a salary to do something, hiring a contractor to do that exact same work sounds like you're spending more money, not saving it.

I'm very saddened to learn about the passing of Merlyn Williams.

He was one of the best story tellers I ever met. I especially liked the one about the wood thief in Yellowknife woodyard.

He was a real character and will be missed by many. My condolences to his family.
