Cool to see the growth in the platform! Onward and upward!
PM Keir Starmer just unveiled his plan for a mandatory digital ID, the “Brit Card”, to curb illegal immigration.

Last night on @gbnewsonline.bsky.social The Late Show with Beverley Turner, I broke down why this proposal is flawed, risky, and ripe for overreach.

Thanks for having me!

Credit where credit is due. This is excellent work by @jd-vance-1.bsky.social and the Trump admin. The U.K.’s backdoor demand to Apple was ludicrous. We shouldn’t allow governments to undermine encryption tech. www.foxnews.com/politics/jd-...

Today, I debuted in @newsweek.com discussing the U.K.’s disastrous rollout of the #OnlineSafetyAct. The entirely predicable outcomes should serve as a cautionary tale for lawmakers here in the U.S. looking to advance similar ideas. #ageverification www.newsweek.com/uk-shows-how...

A cool moment for me yesterday when I was testifying on behalf of Americans for Prosperity to the House Judiciary Committee on “a continued pattern of government surveillance of U.S. citizens.” The government has abused its powers for far too long. Time for change!

Given the state of affairs, it’s understandable that folks might be wound up tight. But perhaps we could all benefit from a collective chill pill. Can’t be snapping at every little thing. It’s exhausting, and that energy is better served for actual fights that lie ahead.
Going to suggest that it's possible that some people on this site are wound up a *bit* too tight.

(I am not excluding myself from that description)

From the recent order in NetChoice v. Bonta, again we see courts leaning on the 'black box' theory, suggesting AI makes its own decisions. This Court quietly notes in a footnote that AI hasn’t reached such capabilities, but that's critical when evaluating the expressive aspects of the algorithm.

Oh, look. Mike Turner complaining about *checks notes* surveillance of MOC and their staff?!? I’m so shocked (NOT)! . During the #FISA reauth fight, he opposed meaningful reforms that would protect not just MOC & staff, but Americans writ large.

Another reason...they are not fascists. You might disagree with them, but neither Trump nor Musk are fascists.
A key reason voters don't believe the fascists are fascists is that major media outlets keep normalizing them with cover stories cueing the public they are just like Hollywood celebrities.
