There is a leak in our office.

Someone helpfully put a bin under it to catch the water.

I understand why couldnt-give-a-fuck Evri drivers put my parcels in the bin as a "safe place" - why are unionised Royal Mail workers doing it too?

They gave me a blood pressure monitor yesterday after testing my blood pressure right after my flu jab and finding it to be "quite high". But they said I couldn't see the results.

Thing is, this has a USB port on it..

This was an incredibly fun episode of Ask Hank Anything. There's been a few of them now actually.
@vicmmic.bsky.social asked @hankgreen.bsky.social all the right questions...or made all the right declarative statements in this episode.

"Bridging algorithms significantly weakened the link between partisanship and engagement and modestly improved viewpoint diversity, but it also increased attention inequality"

This seems like a relatively good tradeoff, all things considered, but it sounds a lot like "old" broadcast media too. Hmm.
We're probably doomed to endless toxic feedback loops unless someone hits upon a brilliant fundamental redesign that manages to change social media's core dynamics.
Study: Social media probably can’t be fixed

@ternbicycles.com When is the GSD S10 Gen 3 coming to the UK in beetle blue? All the advertising is in that colour but it's not even available to back-order :(

The evil one must summon, in their core, to oppose the expansion of rights for one group based on the unsubstantiated fears of another group, is insane. Especially when these rights have been long-held in other places in the world.

And I cannot summon the diplomatic tongue to call it anything else.

"As these tools become more powerful and affordable, skepticism in media will grow. But the question isn't whether we can trust what we see and hear. It's whether we can trust who's showing it to us."

Good, sober analysis. The camera always lied.

Indeed, I think people are being super black or/and white about current tech. It also doesn't help that the loud voice for the tech (specially online) is from grifters, so a large number of end users don't want to accept if the tech might even be of the smallest help... Interesting times ahead.
