I’m thinking of another wronged woman today.

Sue Gray.

Downing St began to fall apart after an experienced dedicated civil servant was ousted for Morgan McSweeney.

She opposed Mandelson’s appointment.

Dominic Cummings – the great genius at the heart of 'Leave'.

Nick Timothy – the great genius at....

Morgan McSweeney – the great....

Steve Hilton...

Can we ban all alleged great geniuses and cast them into outer darkness forever?

Pedestrian fatality risk drops from 50% at 30mph to just 1.5%–10% at 20mph.
Recent data shows 20mph zones can reduce child fatalities by up to 75%.

The first order of business for the British billionaire-owned press and the BBC (as an arm of the Establishment) is always to undermine any Labour government and return to power those who will support their own privileges and wealth. Charlatan as he is, Farage is their man, Starmer is not.
Farage is named in the Epstein files, Starmer isn't, but somehow the media seem determined to force Starmer out. I wonder why?

Mandelson’s always been shifty, though we didnt know the full extent.
Farage is fully shifty out in the open! Racist, lazy, selects traitors, sexist & racist candidates, umpteen lucrative 2nd jobs, dodges interviews but does cameo videos. Just grotesque, yet there isn’t 1% the furore Starmer faces!

There’s a v cynical media and political blindspot in the Epstein shitshow. A feeding frenzy to get rid of Starmer while red-carpeting Farage into No10. Who is named in the files. As is Candy, Reform’s treasurer. With Bannon. And Brexit.
Don’t cry about abuses of power and then do nothing about him.

Our media rightly rages about the already-disgraced Mandelson and Andrew but wrongly fails to hold others in that murky moneyed network to account.
Our democracy is under attack from these dismal people right now. Do not be exposing that a decade too late.

I think the Epstein affair is turning into the defining political scandal of our time. It is bringing into plain sight how informal networks of powerful, entitled, abusive and often sexually violent men operate outside any form of institutional scrutiny or restraint.
I really can’t keep up with this. It’s like every vague suspicion of oligarch, finance and tech power come together - with Russian influence.

Yes, you’re not imagining. Only Mandelson, Lebedev, Milner and Epstein and L’Affaire Russe

I was naive enough to scoff at the idea that there was a shady group of powerful, rich and corrupt men engaged in undermining legitimate democracies and living immoral, criminal and hedonistic lives far removed from the reality of most people. I was clearly wrong. I hate that such people exist.
I’ve written this lengthy FT analysis overnight about the multiple multi-thousand pound Epstein payments to Mandelson’s husband

This is very good on just how trapped we are by the geopolitical weakness, anti-immigrant rhetoric and trade dysfunction of Brexit.
By not changing the Tory record, for fear of alienating Reform voters, Labour - and so the country - is hamstrung by strategic idiocy and populist cruelty.
My Trade Secrets today, in which it's fair to say I go off on one.

The Labour party is famously "a moral crusade or it is nothing". On aid, immigration and trade they're going for the latter option, with betrayals of principle both repugnant and pointless. 1/n

They have been sold to billionaire bankers who do not pay ANY tax in the UK on the money.

As well as leaving 4m people in crippling debt they are destroying the economy.
