Truly the most amazing pieces of French material culture I have ever seen/possessed.
Not only are they about being a notary, which speaks volumes about French legal culture, but more specifically what child doesn’t need to know how to buy a house, write a will, or establish a corporate entity!

Apparently “sorry, officier, the black-cat goalie was about to say I love you for the first time to his golden retriever hockey coach” is *not* a legitimate excuse for not paying close enough attention to my speed…

Being an adult in America means endless fighting with your insurance company.
It’s every freaking month with some inane, unexpected change or billing irregularities.
I don’t get to choose where my PCP sends my labs, like why was the cost $3 in Sept and then $203 in October?!!?

6:23am: I’ve already finished a quint-shot latte and 12oz of drip coffee.
Please tap the glass when I inevitably feel like a panicky void of twisted goo this afternoon.

Learned two things today at my annual physical:
1) I’ve lost 26lbs this year;
2) I have the highest testosterone level my clinician has ever seen without a medical issue or artificial intervention (i.e HRT or steroids)
(Number 2 is particularly funny for anyone who knows me)

Maritime colleagues: was it common to omit names of women travelers - specifically wives - when mentioning passengers onboard? Asking in context of ships coming from England to colonies in early c17th. Can't prove this man's wife went with him, but his young son did (who are both mentioned by name).

Based on the current population of 342,783,738 each person would have to lose an average of 393 pounds to reach Dr. Oz’s estimate.
Oz: We thought it was 125 million pounds. Our estimate is Americans will lose 135 billion pounds by the midterms

Hello. Here we are. Been tossing and turning for an hour. Ugh.
Also, the “Fall Back” has trashed my sleep cycle so I’m back to being up at like 3:30am and fall asleep at 6:15pm

Wow! Today has been a wash work-wise. I cleaned out my inbox (yay) but everything else just ate up time and energy and crossed nothing off the list.
