ANACONDA (1997) was goofy: big performances, silly FX, a campy classic.

ANACONDA (2025) is "goofy." And there's a huge difference contained within those quotes. I tried to explain how Hollywood's problems are encapsulated in these two movies.

“If Apple leadership truly does believe LLMs will become commodities, then the company’s AI success will depend less on bespoke new models, and more on its ability to control the hardware, software, and services that AI runs on.”

This is honestly incredibly smart.

Before getting into this year’s roundup, here are a few honorable mentions for movies that probably aren’t going to make a lot of best-of lists this year.

Why debate about taking a bath when you can say five words and they will just do it.

When I need a bit of comfort from the news of the moment, I like to learn about the equally insane 1970s. We got through it once; maybe we can again?

This documentary about the film of 1975 and what they say about the 70s is fascinating.

This Netflix Half Time show is good. They got Snoop Dogg, Huntrix, Lainey Wilson, and Andrea Bocelli.

They made a splash last year with Beyoncé, but proved themselves with this one.
