I love baseball, statistics and talking about baseball and statistics
On a more fun note, Jake Bauers had an in zone contract rate of 91.2% in September, an 18.8% strikeout rate and his bat speed was the fifth highest jump in baseball (min 100 swings per season) from 2024 to 2025. With tangible changes, is he the incumbent 1B in 2026?

The upcoming CBA makes the current revenue sharing model a hot topic. I can see two financial loopholes and a lack of meritocracy that make the biggest dent in what could still be an effective system

Brandon Woodruff is 99% certain to decline his mutual option, but the Brewers may be uniquely placed in negotiations to bring him back to Milwaukee on a longer deal that suits both parties thanks to QO rules👇

An early roster projection allows us to guesstimate the Brewers financial flexibility for 2026 to address some key weaknesses. I've dived into how much the Brewers may have to spend this season, and the factors surrounding how they use those funds:

Do Brewers Have Financial Flexibility for Big Acquisitions This Offseason?
The Brewers have a roster full of depth and quality, but there are some positions they'll want to address entering 2026. Do they have the payroll flexibility to make moves?

It took all of a day for Freddy Peralta trade rumors to surface. I took some time to note why the Brewers have to be open to offers, and what considerations come into play regarding their ace this offseason 👇

Why the Brewers Have to At Least Consider a Freddy Peralta Trade
It took all of a day after the Brewers' exit for rumors to swirl around the fate of Freddy Peralta, and the decision certainly isn't black and white. Here are some of the layers to consider:

Interestingly, the Brewers have been dominated by changeups in the NLCS, but they actually ranked 6th in xWOBA, and had the second lowest whiff rate in baseball against off speed pitches.
If they can lock into Glasgow tonight, who doesn't get much chase, they have a shot
The stuff is legit mind

I became a baseball fan in 2019. Thanks to my cousin, the Milwaukee Brewers are my team. Many have asked "why the Brewers"?. This is why. This organisation is special, and I'm halfway to a tear to finally see them win a playoff series. Two series from a WS Win.

Chicago Cubs in the '25 postseason

WC game 1 - 13 K's
WC game 2 - 11 K's
WC game 3 - 11 K's
DS game 1 - 12 K's
DS game 2 - 11 K's

That's a 34.5% strikeout rate this postseason

The Brewers conversely have the highest xWoBA so far in an obviously giant sample size with a 16.7% strikeout rate

Aaron Ashby is filthy dude.
Jeremy Maschino's dynamic dead zone model highlights why hitters can't barrel him up. Every pitch drops noticeably more than a hitter would expect from that release point (solid circles are the actual movement ranges, shadows are expected movement). Like a LOT more

So I have an idea for how the #Brewers manage their rotation in July:
- Misiorowski gets an extended break post ASB
- Cortes to return post ASB in his spot
- Quintana traded at the deadline as Misiorowski builds back up after 15-20 days off
Thoughts?
