Final day of the auction! Some pieces still don't have bids, others only one or two and still low offers, so worth taking a look and seeing if there's anything you like

Art is apparently exempt from tarriffs for US bidders too

An additional 500 National Guard members have arrived in Washington, D.C., bringing the total deployment to 2,750 troops, according to the National Guard and bringing the cost to taxpayers to roughly $1.6 million per day.

Remember folks: if you have any small amount of artistic talent, any sex appeal, or can make your friends laugh, the richest man on earth is crying screaming throwing up because he can’t be you.

Coincidental, but I saw this guy doing just that from a nearby building. I watched him for a while and was rewarded by getting to see him catch and eat a mouse!

This is your reminder that FL-21 is only an R+7 district. The Tennessee special election just continued the trend of 10-20 point swings that we have seen over the past year. Carrying that momentum, we can win this district and defeat Brian Mast in the midterms in 2026.

Devastating. Trump admin selling off historic public art to the highest bidder. "It is a tragic irony that murals meant to represent the contract between the government and its citizens would be sold to the highest bidder rather than preserved for posterity." www.alternet.org/trump-destro...

Neil, 17 Nov '25. He's a very diligent dad, coming after sunset for seeds for his babies (the damp patches at the sides of his beak are from them crop feeding). It wasn't as dark as it looked, though - taken with the flash from inside a lit room. #PigeonSky ##BirdOfTheDay

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

The Dept. of Education is making nursing degrees HARDER to afford, in the middle of a nursing shortage. That’s not reform, that’s reckless.

Nurses keep our hospitals running, save our families, and hold our healthcare system together. They deserve MORE support, not less.

D.C.’s pretrial bail system mirrors the federal one — no one is jailed just for being charged, and judges already weigh risk & safety, not wealth. Congress shouldn’t be micromanaging local D.C. laws. If we want fairness & accountability, we should pass D.C. statehood & let D.C. chart its own future.

I witnessed something touching in DC and wanted to share. An elderly lady was at a bus stop and apparently had a … biological accident, let’s call it. It was a busy street. She was apparently distressed and lots of people pretended not to see. I froze too with a vague sense I should do something.

Detroit is the best.
The government shutdown has put SNAP benefits at risk for millions of Americans. Travis Peters, an urban farmer in Detroit, is giving out free produce tomorrow

'If it's getting tight, my food is free. Don’t even sweat that'
As SNAP benefits come under threat, a Detroit farmer is stepping up to help fill the void
