Here's Jason Kirschner's cover art for my next picture book, which comes out in September 2026. It makes me laugh every time I look at it!

I could look at this painting all day. It captures so many of the things that make me love north London.

The best way of describing someone who’s all talk and no action that I’ve ever heard in the UK, by far, is “they’re all wardrobe and no Narnia.”

I am embarrassed to notice that in my pinned tweet about the wonderful cover of my new book... I neglected to credit the brilliant illustrator Jason Kirschner. Mea culpa! Going to fix that right now...
To publishers, authors, & others posting about illustrated books, including covers that have illustration: Please credit the ILLUSTRATOR.

This not only helps boost the illustrator, but also shows that you value HUMAN illustrators.

I've played 133 escape rooms, and this may be my favorite thing out of any of them. It's an accessibility panel that gives players direct control over sound volume and flashing lights. (Plus it directs them to other accessibility options elsewhere in the room.)

Bravo to 60 Out Hollywood!

Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

I just read MAEVE MULVANEY HAS HAD ENOUGH by @kellyamangan.bsky.social and it's a strong recommend. All the characters are nuanced and well observed, but I want to particularly single out the MC's relationship with her parents. It's very hard to get a realistic parent-child relationship in MG...
