I keep trying to make this point and nobody believes me.
Dems are still operating in a political paradigm where the public has a set of concerns, roughly reflecting the reality of life in America, and elections are about who addresses them better.

But that is not the political paradigm we’ve lived in, for a long time, and we’re getting further from it.

New from me: Trump is a lame duck, an old, tired, easily manipulated one, whose vanity is a useful tool. Foreign leaders like Claudia Sheinbaum are right to mock him, and American elites should uncurl from the fetal position and get in on the fun.

Donald Trump is a lame duck (not a bear)—an unusually weak one, in some ways—and he knows it.

The 4 votes in this case are why it’s ridiculous to assume that it’s a 100% chance the Court would prevent a third Trump term.
there was zero basis on which to do anything else. but it's a reminder that you have four and often five or six thoroughly corrupt justices who on the merits should be removed from office.
This is a symbolic victory, but it’s a real warning sign that there are four solid Supreme Court votes to allow Trump to do anything at all. America’s democracy hangs by the thin thread of Roberts and Coney Barrett’s feelings in any given case.

President Jimmy Carter’s memorial service was today at the National Cathedral near where I live in DC. This seems like an apt quote when I think about his amazing legacy. We should all live our lives like this.

1) This is just truth.

2) Dems sure as shit better target the tech oligarchs in utterly ruthless ways if/when they regain power. Because we now see that if you propose modest regulatory reform these guys will try to kill you; but if you overtly threaten their businesses, they'll work with you.
don't want to pile on here but the problem is it wasn't a crusade. Dems did a couple modest skirmishes against Big Tech power but did not remotely break it, in fact they all kept getting huge government subsidies
