The Hunger Games was really like, "What if a reality TV showmance was political?"

Being anti-slavery should be the easiest moral decision ever. I would not like to be enslaved nor see anyone that I care about to be enslaved. Full stop.

Newsom isn't perfect but this is the kind of leadership we need right now.
Newsom: "He doesn't play by a different set of rules. He doesn't believe in the rules. As a consequence, we need to disabuse ourselves of the way things have been done. It's not enough to just hold hands, have a candlelight vigil, talk about way the world should be...we have got to meet fire w/fire"

Everything Trump does comes down to three motivations: narcissism, racism, and money laundering. That's it. That explain it all.

Republicans wanting to break up the marriages of same sex couples mean that they are now the anti-family party.

You've gotta admit that the Republicans' plan of weaponizing transphobia in order to bring about fascism worked out pretty good for them.

The current problem with social media is that it's really hard to tell the difference between the smartest bot and the dumbest human.

What kind of "coding error" causes something like this?
It has been brought to our attention that some sections of Article 1 are missing from the Constitution Annotated (constitution.congress.gov) website. We’ve learned that this is due to a coding error. We have been working to correct this and expect it to be resolved soon.

I do wish thoughtful people outnumbered fearful ones. What an amazing world we could have.

As someone who actually lives in Speedway, this disgusts me.

Also, the camp is no where near Speedway, Indiana so the name is insulting.
A new immigrant detention center will be opening in Indiana called the “Speedway Slammer,” modeled after Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz.”

On #playbookpod, Megan Messerly explains why the rhetoric used by the administration to describe these centers is significant.

I don't miss Twitter one bit but those days where everyone came together to cyber bully an unhinged micro celebrity were always golden.
the further we get from the initial covid outbreak the more i feel a genuine calling to cast the naomi wolf freaking out at a stanley bear tweet in bronze so that future generations have physical, lasting proof that this was an era of extremely dumb people

Not to sound like a broken record, but if Biden had done this...
Reporters shouted to ask what he was doing up there and he said he was "taking a little walk." He said something about the White House ballroom and made some gestures but it's not really making a ton of sense yet. Normal stuff

It's a bit jarring when you realize what the reason Christian churches preach against gossip is because they don't want people believing victims.

It's extremely frustrating know that I am stuck chatting with an AI customer service bot but it still somehow takes multiple minutes for it to respond to me.

There's this GetGo gas station between Indianapolis and Lebanon in a weird spot off of I-65 that feels very liminal. I like to go there and pretend I'm visiting another dimension.
No vacation this summer but sometimes I’ll go to the 7-11 that’s not the usual 7-11 I go to like “oooh I wonder what they have HERE”

The US murder rate in 2024 was likely down nearly 30 percent relative to 2020 and down nearly 50 percent relative to 1990.

The only explanation I can think of (since they didn't tell me the reason) is that I used the word "weapon". Not even a particular weapon, just "weapon". No warning either. Just straight to a suspension. #Threads
LOL. My Threads account got suspended with no explanation.

The most frustrating thing about American politics is that we all know what is about to happen. People have been predicting it for weeks, if not months now. It's all being caused by one man. And the people who have the power to stop that man have refused to do it.

I do not understand people not understanding Chappell Roan lyrics. She's not out here using complex metaphors. All of her songs are extremely straightforward. Maybe go read the lyrics.
