I lean left but it’s open season to criticize them all. I’m not the overly nice Canadian you were promised but I make up for it with dog content 🐾

I care this much about politics because we can’t afford not to
Trump only wants 14 year olds to be seen as the same as adults because he’s on the list
Trump: "You have 14 year old kids that are just as tough as a 25 year old, just as dangerous, and they carry the same gun. We have to make a provision where they are treated like older people ... you have 14 year old kids that are evil. They're sick. And they have to be put away"

Perhaps Canada should follow Germany’s lead and stop arming Israel
PM Carney: Canada’s close friendship with Germany is built upon our shared values of peace democracy, and sustainability, and upheld by our work together — in trade, defence, and energy.

Carney & Canada's statements on Gaza are completely vacuous & shameless

Gaza doesnt need Canada's pity. Canada is still arming Israel. Canada must implement full and immediate arms embargo. And sanction Israel. And suspend all military and trade agreements.

Escalate to break imperialist consensus

The hospitals are Hamas
The civilians seeking aid are Hamas
The orphaned children are Hamas
The clearly identified journalists are Hamas
The cameras that will continue to reveal the war crimes are Hamas

It's antisemitic blood libel to say Israel would bomb a hospital, unless there's proof Israel did bomb the hospital in which case the hospital was Hamas, unless nobody buys that the hospital was Hamas in which case it was a tragic accident and Israel is looking into it.

Israel bombed a hospital.

Rescue workers and reporters rushed to recover the dead and the wounded.

Israel bombed the hospital again. Live on TV.

Read that again.

Our government’s legacy will be its complicity in crimes against humanity. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Canada has to put in real sanctions.

83% of people killed are civilians, mostly children.
Starvation and famine across Gaza.
200 journalists killed.
Bombing hospitals and then bombing the rescuers.
Expanding illegal settlements in the West Bank.

This has to stop. We have to do more.

Israel is committing war crimes on live stream and the Liberals are refusing to act

It is already far too late but at this point anything less than severe sanctions and an arms embargo makes us complicit in this genocide

The first stop for Pierre on his way back to Ottawa should be at CSIS to apply for his security clearance.

He has a month before the House resumes to take care of this. Will he?

In light of the Air Canada situation I thought I’d come back to pull this controversial little statement out of the archives
Some of you are speaking about Carney like he’s a do-no-wrong king & saviour and it’s troublesome

To clarify for those who are unsure, everyone who earns taxable income is eligible for the Liberal tax cut. The 1% reduction applies to tax owing on up to $57,375 . Anything earned above that is taxed at the rate in the next bracket (as usual) but your rate is still reduced for tax on $57,375

What are the odds that Team Axe the Tax votes no on this ?

I just saw a video where a women said she thinks there should be a knowledge test for people to vote and then went on to imply that if they did that conservatives would have won and I’ll be sure to let you all know when I stop laughing about that

Not only do we have a right to criticize our governments - we have an obligation to.
Blind hero worship of ANY political party, ANY elected official is irrational & dangerous.
NO party, NO politician, is above reproach.
It makes us stronger when we stop excusing bad policy & hold them accountable.

That’s the thing, when you worship a politician, you’ll never criticize their awful policies, even when you are adversely affected.

You’d think seeing all the shit going on downstairs…we’d be more cautious?

While I am complimentary and hopefully optimistic that PM Carney will steer us in the right direction & I stand by my choice for him as my PM…

He still has work to do and the “can do no wrong” attitude is dangerous.

Indeed, the answer to a populist right isn’t an unchecked left. It’s going to be very interesting to see both how MC as a non-career politician will govern outside of current crisis management, as well as how media covers him in that role.

Who would have imagined that it would be controversial to say that we shouldn’t hero worship any politician

Poilievre should never have gotten as close as he did to winning

But the support he has isn’t the problem, it’s a symptom

We have to identify the cause(s) and cure the disease

This sounds nice but lets be really clear here: we (non-Indigenous people) don’t own Canada either
Carney to Trump: "There are some places that are never for sale ... having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign, it's not for sale. It won't be for sale ever."

A lot of people seem to be relaxing and saying “we have Carney now” and forgetting we have him FOR NOW

There will be another election, (probably in a couple of years) and Poilievre will be part of it

The only way to win that one is to keep putting in the work
